The North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives (NDAREC) is the trade association for the state's 16 distribution co-ops and five generation and transmission co-ops in North Dakota. It was incorporated in 1958 and is located in Mandan, N.D

Rural Utilities leader visits North Dakota
John Padalino, Acting Administrator of the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture visited North Dakota last week. Padalino met with several individuals and groups which RUS serves through its menu of rural development and infrastructure financing and support services.

Padalino said his time in North Dakota showed him “how cooperative this state is. North Dakota is the model of cooperation in in our country.”

RUS, the successor to the Rural Electrification Administration, has funded rural electric cooperatives nationwide since its creation May 11, 1935. Currently, RUS has over $60 billion in assets under management to finance electric, telecommunications and water and wastewater
utilities serving rural areas nationwide.

Co-op paints Bowls for Babies
As part of its commitment to community, Verendrye Electric Cooperative, Velva, N.D. participates in "Bowls for Babies" a fundraiser for the March of Dimes. This video shows employees at the Velva office painting the bowls for the fundraiser which will be held this Fall. Verendrye is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative
