More than 60 lineworkers attended the NDAREC hotline school in July. The school gives lineworkers the chance to learn how to work the system “hot” without actually being exposed to energized lines.
The school is offered in two, two-and-a half-day sessions, to allow more participants to attend.
The training is a combination of both classroom and field exercises. Experienced lineworkers serve as instructors and the students perform common tasks expected of a journeyman lineworker under normal energized conditions. View the video to learn more about the training.
