Your local electric cooperatives are pleased to work with you to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy by funding made available through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA), also known as the stimulus program. It was enacted into law in February 2009. It was created to save jobs, jumpstart the economy and build the foundation for long-term economic growth.
As part of the ARRA, the North Dakota Department of Commerce initially received $60 million from the $43 billion in stimulus funds allocated nationally, to begin investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. Working with and on behalf of North Dakota’s electric distribution cooperatives, the North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives received a grant for $2.4 million to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Of this amount, about $2.1 million will be used directly for consumer rebates. Available energy efficiency funds total $1,292,924 and renewable energy rebates total $802,560. Visit the program description for rebate requirements and the funds available page for more information.
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements to receive a rebate. This program, provided by NDAREC and its member systems, is being made available to all members of electric cooperatives in North Dakota. See the program disclaimer for more information.
The Commerce Department approved the application for the program to begin on June 1, 2010.
