2020 AWARD CATEGORIES

NOMINATION PROCEDURES

Nominations will be accepted when e-mailed on or before the Nov. 12 deadline.

COOPERATIVE LEADERSHIP AWARD

New in 2020! REC directors, general managers and chief executive officers, and employees are eligible nominees. Based on the recommendation of the NDAREC Professional Development Committee, we are introducing a separate Cooperative Leadership Award category for REC directors and one for REC general managers, chief executive officers and employees.

This award recognizes outstanding leadership demonstrated in multiple areas. As a result of the individual’s efforts, cooperative philosophy and principles were promoted and the prestige of rural electric cooperatives enhanced.

HELPING HAND AWARD

The Helping Hand Award recognizes faithful friends and strong supporters of North Dakota’s rural electric cooperatives. The individual may be any publicly elected or appointed official, residing in or out of state, or a North Dakota cooperative member or citizen.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

This award recognizes rural electric cooperative directors, managers and employees for their individual volunteerism — community involvement and services offered outside the normal scope of delivering electric service and job responsibilities.

COOPERATIVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AWARD

This award category was recently revised by the NDAREC Professional Development Committee, and was introduced in 2017. It is presented to NDAREC distribution member-systems that have made significant and lasting contributions to community development in their service territories and to the state of North Dakota.
