NDAREC Issues Statement on Passage of the 2018 Farm Bill

MANDAN, ND – The North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives (NDAREC) hails the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, which is expected to be signed into law by President Trump next week.

NDAREC General Manager and Executive Vice President Josh Kramer issued the following statement:

“On behalf of North Dakota’s electric cooperatives, I want to thank Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp and Rep. Kevin Cramer for their important work to ensure the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. We are very fortunate to have had our entire congressional delegation as conferees on such an important piece of public policy. It is reassuring to know that our delegation not only understands who we are as electric cooperatives, but listens and advocates for positions important to us, including strong energy and rural development titles.”

NDAREC is the statewide trade association for 16 electric distribution cooperatives and five generation and transmission cooperatives operating in North Dakota. The distribution cooperatives provide electricity to more than 250,000 North Dakotans along more than 200,000 meters. NDAREC services include legislative advocacy, line worker safety training and professional development services, cooperative business development, and communication services including publication of the North Dakota Living magazine.
