The Business Manager is a department head, reports directly to the General Manager, and is a valued member of the management team. Candidate must be highly organized and proficient in Microsoft Office applications. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field of study is required.
The Business Manager is responsible for and supervises all integrated accounting and finance functions for the cooperative including but not limited to financial transactions, electric billing, cash management, budget, audit, and maintenance of records of all financial and accounting activities in accordance with established board policies and generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
North Central Electric serves the North Central region of ND with 7,620 meters, 3,287 miles of distribution line, $87 million in plant and $27 million in annual revenues. Bottineau is located in North Central ND in the Turtle Mountain region of ND and in the heart of the Four Seasons Playground. This area is renowned for its fishing, boating, mountain biking trails, and hunting both big and small game. Winter time activities include snowmobiling, ice fishing, downhill and cross country skiing. Bottineau has an excellent school system with a new elementary school opening in the fall of 2020. Bottineau is also home to Dakota College at Bottineau.

The Board of Directors for High Plains Power has announced that the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be retiring the end of 2020 and the Board is seeking her successor. The incoming CEO will assume leadership of this operationally strong organization.
High Plains Power serves parts of 8 counties in central Wyoming. HPP employs 45 professionals serving over 13,300 meters over 4,863 miles of line. The Cooperative has an annual operating revenue between $75-$80 million and total utility plant of about $123 million. Over 60% of HPP’s sales is from large industrial members, about 28% from residential and the remaining from irrigation, small commercial and seasonal members. High Plains is headquartered in Riverton, Wyoming has district offices in Casper, Dubois and Thermopolis.
Successful candidates must have a minimum of 10 years electric utility experience, preferable with the rural electric program, and at least 5 years of leadership experience in a senior management position. A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field is preferred. Candidates must have broad electric utility management experience and knowledge that includes such areas as operations and safety, finance, strategic planning, team building and member communications. The System Engineer position is a key member of the Engineering Services team. The duties and responsibilities for this position will vary based on qualifications and experience of the applicant. Core duties include design, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of SCADA system components; technical administration of metering and load control systems; perform electrical studies and calculations to support distribution system expansions; specify, order, and install technical system components; maintain current records including drawings, databases, and electrical models.
Applicants interested in the System Engineer position must have a B.S. in electrical engineering, a minimum of two years of utility or closely related experience, and be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Relevant industry experience may be considered as a substitute for required education. Preferred qualifications include EIT certification, protective device programming and coordination experience, strong aptitude for data analysis, AutoCAD experience, and communication system experience. Experience with electrical distribution construction is a plus. The successful applicant must also display strong oral and written communication skills, possess a good attitude and work ethic, as well as a commitment to excellent customer service.
