The Value of 'US'

NDAREC focuses on improving the quality of life for our member cooperatives by extending their reach in the areas of economic development, enhancing communication efforts and advocating for member interests. The association also supports the current and future workforce by investing in comprehensive education and safety training programs that prepare employees and directors with skills and knowledge to thrive in today’s evolving electric industry.

• Advocating at both the state and national levels, NDAREC helps shape policy that advances the electric cooperative network. These efforts save North Dakota’s electric cooperatives and their members tens of millions of dollars each year.

Communicating monthly to more than 80,000 electric cooperative members through the North Dakota Living magazine and other venues, NDAREC builds support and understanding of critical industry issues and shares stories that reflect the value of cooperation and connection.

• Educating hundreds of cooperative directors, employees and youth, NDAREC enhances leadership, operational excellence and governance skills, empowering cooperatives to better serve their communities.

• Training hundreds of people monthly, NDAREC helps cooperatives foster a culture of safety for employees and communities, helping ensure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.

• Leveraging low-interest loans and grants, NDAREC invests millions of dollars in local communities, cooperatives and small businesses to improve quality of life.

• Providing access to health and well-being services through the ND REC Benefit Trust, NDAREC insures thousands of employees and their families, ensuring a healthy electric cooperative workforce.
